March Madness

March is here already? Seriously didn't we just ring in the New year?

March is always a busy month for us, with birthdays, celebrations and spring break it tends to get filled up. This year having Easter being added to it means we'll be extra busy. Not that I mind that, it helps out in small ways to be productive and social but this year seems to be flying by as is and add a busy schedule, it goes even quicker.

Things I'm looking forward to this month:
  • My Birthday (I turned 28 last Friday)
  • Evans Birthday. (next week)
  • St. Patty's Day!
  • Good Friday
  • Easter
  • Dallas Arboretum Trip
  • Averys room make-over
  • 5k training.
  • Starting back at the Shelter.
  • Warmer weather
Add in a few dentist/eye and doctor appointments and there you have it. Avery also has spring break next week so I'm trying to think and plan a few fun things to do to make the days more fun for us. Anyone want to have a play date or park date?

September Already!? :)

I feel like such a broken record with my poor blog. I could have sworn I updated a few times in August but apparently I didn't! Same with my HLC blog which I'm starting to wonder was worth all the hype but I know it's just the pregnancy and summer-ness getting to me on that end.

SO much to catch up on and I warn you now you oh-so-AMAZING reader, I've got much to update and just pour out about. Maybe need to hash things out in a 2-parter and just keep this entry as simple as possible.

Life at the Hartfield casa seems to finally be slowing down after a busy summer. We just got back from a weekend trip with Evans parents (always and I mean ALWAYS fun being with those two amazing people!). Avery started school this week too which means new routine and schedule and not too mention a little free time for mommy and daddy.

Check out my big girl!!!
She is Blessed with two awesome teachers this year and I just can not tell you how EXCITED Evan and I are that she gets to have this experience. She really loves her school and the 1st week is done and she already has made new friends! She's also ridiculously taller than her classmates.....

We had 2 more foster litters come and go and we even got our sweet mama kitty, Layla adopted! I know it sounds dumb but after having her be at our fence, deck and slowy into our home after 2 years, I kinda didn't expect her to get adopted and she was adopted just 2hrs after I took her to the shelter!! When I was notified about her adoption, I sobbed. I'm talking...wailed! Boo-hooed and did the full blown ugly cry. I loved her and was so used to her ALWAYS being with us even though she really wasn't ours. After the last kitten was gone it took me 3 days to realize I wasn't hearing kittens or needing to get up and feed them. Paris and Gus are sure happy and Evan has asked that I not bring home anymore Little's until after our own new little arrives. :)

Speaking of our Little.....
IT'S A GIRL!!!!!

We are having ANOTHER girl! We found out 2wks ago and are super excited. For now she is referred to as "Little Miss" since we are not sharing her name until she is born. (I told 2 friends on accident and Evan told his parents so now we are being VERY strict with this rule!) Sadly, this is the best sono pic I have so far but I have my anatomy scan on Tuesday so hopefully I will get a better pic to share.

I'm 21wks today! Crazy to think we are already half way there! I started feeling her at 16wks but as of last week she has decided to let me know EVERY move she makes! With Avery it was a few stretches in my ribs and hiccups but this one....she's a roly poly!! Usually around 7am and 10pm she is most active and I am loving every second of it. I'll get a 20wks picture uploaded soon and show my 14wk/16wk & 20wk belly shots. :)

So far we know she has her daddy's booty, chin and profile, just like Avery did. She is super long and has little feet.

I'm finally getting the reality of it I think. I've been telling people how weird it is for me to be so lax about EVERYTHING with this pregnancy but once we found out SHE was a SHE I started planning and thinking and list making. Evan and I went to Babies R Us and started a registry, we've got her and Averys room laid out so I know where to start from there. I just wish I could narrow things down and stop being so indecisive. SO much has changed on the market since we had Avery and we both feel weird about asking people to buy Little Miss gifts for her shower which.....hasn't even been planned or talked about and I'm not even sure if I'm having one.

Her colors are Gray and Lilac with no theme for her nursery. I'm just going for colors and patterns. Super Hartfield, I know. ;)

Alright, that should do for a sufficient update. I'll get belly pics and another update out and about before the weekend hits full throttle.

Thanks for sticking with me and my lazy, nonblogging self.

The Big Trip List

Alright, I got around to doing this finally even though this list is in my head and verbally stated with Evan on an almost weekly basis.
I must saying looking up information and "semi-planning" for these trips makes them look more achievable to me and gets me fired up! With a little saving here and there I think these trips could totally be done and a huge chunk of my bucket list crossed off. :)

*Top 5 Big Trip List*
(In no particular order)

#1-ENGLAND- I went when I was 15 for 2 weeks and had the best time ever, however, I was 15 and didn't understand how blessed I was to get to view so many places rich in history and my pictures have dwindled down in the past decade since I went. That trip was also when I had my very first seizure which many of you know I had for 7 years and never was diagnosed with epilepsy or a seizure disorder (just migraines and seizures for 7 years) so some of the first days are a bit foggy but the rest of the trip I remember in detail. Here are some of my reasons for wanting to go back..
*Organized Travel = Bliss
*Oh, Mister Darcy!
* Prince William- I can dream!
*London Calling

#2-JAPAN- I love this culture, the history (have I mentioned how I am a history nerd?), the food (they eat practically anything!) and the passion Japanese people have for life. I would love to go someday just to people watch.
*A modest tour
*My Husband and I's candy store
*The Gardens

#3- A Cruise- Alright I know this doesn't seem like a BIG TRIP however, Evan and I have never been on a cruise and I think it would be really cool to do one! One of these 3 would be ideal...
*Alaskan
*Western Caribbean
*Disney Cruise? Um, YES PLEASE!

#4- HAWAII- Evan and I have agreed and are definitely going to do this but it's just seeing how much we can save up for it to determine if it'll be just the 2 of us or us and some family and a few close friends. We plan on going to Hawaii for our 10th Wedding Anniversary and renewing our vows, which I think would be amazing!
*Maui Me Again.
*Maui
*Calgon, Take me away!
Again, we're still in the planning stages but I think Maui would be best.

#5- DISNEY WORLD- Evan and I went here on our Honeymoon and it was so much fun. I had never been before but Evan had. We stayed in the wilderness lodge for the first few days (next to a family of 5 no less, um, awkward but funny too) and then we moved to the Polynesian Resort which was AMAZING, I highly suggest doing the Luau (sooo good). We both want to go back and take Avery so that gives us a few years when she's big enough to actually ride the rides and semi-remember it :) Um, not to mention the Harry Potter Theme Park close by...*I admit I'm a dork*..
*When you wish upon a star...
*Other "must do's" in Orlando
*Too much fun in a 50 mile radius!

Hope you enjoy checking out the sites and maybe causing a travel bug in yourself. Let me know what you think or know of these trips, I literally have a binder full of information for each of these trips and we're already saving for 1 of them in the near future (Next summer) just depends on which is more cost efficient for what we have saved by then. :)

Have a great week!!
Love & Blessings,
Britt & Co.
